Hi, I’m Brian

I’m the person behind Formerge.

For much of my career, my work has centered on helping people think clearly, make decisions, and move forward when things feel complex, noisy, or stuck. That work has taken many forms over the years, but the core has remained the same: creating the right conditions for good thinking.

Before Formerge, I spent years inside a global innovation and manufacturing organization, working across technology, operations, and leadership teams. I helped people navigate change, integrate new tools, and move ideas from concept to reality. Often, my role was less about providing answers and more about slowing things down, asking better questions, and helping people see what actually mattered.

That pattern of work shaped how I operate today.

  • Formerge exists to create an environment where clarity can emerge.

This work is not about advice, motivation, or productivity systems. I don’t arrive with frameworks to impose or answers to hand out. Instead, I focus on shaping the conditions that support reflection, sound judgment, and forward movement.

Walking and time outdoors play an important role in that process. When we step outside, the pace naturally shifts. Distractions soften. Conversations become less performative and more honest. The environment itself supports a different quality of attention that is difficult to access in offices or on screens.

Clarity rarely comes from pushing harder. It comes from creating the right conditions.

  • Spending time outdoors has long been part of how I reset, reflect, and think. Over time, it became clear that this was not just personal preference, but a powerful way to support others in their own thinking.

My approach is informed by formal training in nature-based practices, including forest therapy certification through The Forest Therapy School, and ongoing certification work with Walking Mentorship. These influences ground the work in intention, presence, and careful pacing, without turning it into something rigid or prescriptive.

Nature is not a backdrop for this work. It actively shapes how we think.

  • I work with individuals and teams.

Most of the work begins at the individual level, even when the context is organizational. People come to Formerge when they are navigating a decision, a transition, or a period of uncertainty and want space to think clearly rather than react quickly.

Some people engage for restoration. Others are seeking direction. Often, both are present.

  • Formerge is about moving forward through emerging insight.

It is a structure that holds space for reflection, sense making, and next steps, without rushing the process or forcing outcomes. The goal is not to change who you are, but to help you hear your own thinking more clearly and trust your judgment again.

    Slow down.
    Get clear.
    Move forward.

  • The name is a blend of forward and emerge. It reflects the heart of my coaching and mentoring work: helping people slow down enough to think clearly, move forward with intention, and allow better decisions to emerge.

At its core, Formerge is about creating the conditions for progress rather than prescribing answers. Sometimes that looks like walking conversations in nature. Other times it looks like structured reflection, decision support, or practical guidance through periods of transition or complexity.

If you explore the site further, you’ll also see that I offer IT advisory work. That is not accidental or separate. It reflects the same mindset applied in a more tactical context: helping people cut through noise, make sound decisions about technology, and move forward without overcomplicating things.

I also wanted the name itself to be practical. Short, distinct, easy to remember, with an available .com and enough flexibility to grow. Formerge felt like the right balance of movement and meaning.
